"AGT's First Biotechnology Product has Been Selected for an International R&D100 Award"

KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE - (Business Wire) - July 18, 2005.

Atmospheric Glow Technologies, Inc. (AGWT:OCBB) has received one of R&D Magazine's 2005 R&D 100 Awards for its PlasmaGen APR-510-S device. The PlasmaGen APR-510-S is a benchtop device that releases DNA from all types of microorganisms including bacterial endospores. By providing the user a simple straightforward means to liberate DNA, time-intensive multistep processes that often rely on hazardous chemicals are avoided. Suzanne South, AGT's Director of Biodevelopment, says, "the PlasmaGen APR-510-S offers time- and money-saving advantages over existing methods that make it a truly competitive addition to the marketplace."

This breakthrough product will be showcased in the magazine's September issue and will be on display during the gala awards ceremony to be held October 20, 2005 at Chicago's Navy Pier. Atmospheric Glow Technologies is actively developing a sales and marketing campaign for the APR-510-S and has placed product as far away as Japan.

"Atmospheric Glow Technologies is developing its patented atmospheric plasma technology to be incorporated into a number of products ranging from biotechnology to materials processing. This second R&D 100 Award is an affirmation of the quality product development that is being accomplished by our highly trained technical team," said Kimberly Kelly-Wintenberg, President and COO.

The R&D Award is presented annually by R&D Magazine for the world's 100 most promising technologies. The magazine selects products worldwide that demonstrate "technological significance" when compared to competing products and technologies. Past winners have included the fax machine, the automated teller machine, Taxol, the halogen bulb, and HDTV.
