"Atmospheric Glow Technologies, Inc. and AR Brown Co., Ltd. Announce Distribution Agreement"
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - December 14, 2006 - Atmospheric Glow Technologies, Inc. (AGT) (OTCBB: AGWT) and AR Brown Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan announce an agreement under which AR Brown Co., Ltd. will operate as the exclusive distributor of AGT's PlasmaGen APR-510-S in Japan. The PlasmaGen APR-510-S is a laboratory instrument that releases nucleic acid in less than two minutes from all classes of microorganisms including bacteria, bacterial endospores (e.g., anthrax), yeasts, fungi, and viruses. The release of nucleic acid is the first step towards detection, identification, and genetic characterization of microorganisms. The PlasmaGen APR-510-S uses a parallel set of electrodes, creating uniform plasma that ruptures microorganisms, releasing the DNA. The extracted DNA can then be used for further analysis with techniques such as electrophoresis or the polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
AR Brown Co., Ltd. has an extensive background as a provider of goods and technical services to the biotechnology, chemical, pharmaceutical, automobile, and aerospace industries.
